Hello again!
It has been a while, I have mostly been sitting behind a desk in London doing my best to enjoy my time. London is obviously a fabulous city and I am blessed with some amazing friends so it wasn’t too difficult.
Now more about my current state of life; I was meant to start my master’s in international crime and justice law in Turin, Italy in January. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the course has now been postponed. As I already had my flight to Italy, along with my new course friends, I decided to take the chance of an adventure anyway and fly over. Two weeks ago, I arrived at the airport in Rome, enjoyed a glass of Ferrari sparkling wine and waited for my second boarding.
I was rather late so I agreed to meet the ladies on the following day. Quick screenshots of the city map (you should always download offline map especially if you are a bad navigator) and I took off to the Egyptian Museum to meet my new friends. We had the loveliest day around the museum (one of the largest Egyptian collections in the world), eating some pasta and popping into a famous chocolate cafe called Gobino. We finished the evening off by watching the sunset from the top of the Mole Antonelliana, the highest tower in Turin.

On a clear day, you can even spot the Alps from the top. There is an interesting museum in the building but unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to explore it properly.
The following day we attempted to find our way to the famous Superga cathedral on the slopes of the mountain. However, everything in Italy shuts down for siesta between 3 and 7 pm and we weren’t able to get the streetcar up anymore. We ended up exploring the Piazza Vittorio Veneto and getting some wine.

We decided to have a farewell party on Friday as some of the girls only came out in here for the week. In the morning, we headed out to the Superga and actually made it in time to get the street car up! Sadly, January seems to be a bit grey even in Italy and there wasn’t much of a view down but we were lucky to be by ourselves at the top.

The farewell night included a lot of tequila in Italian colours.
All I have to say about that! Next up; 7-day road trip around Northern Italy.
Love,
Mira
