Amazing Africa
I have lived in Africa on and off since 2009 when I first moved to Cape Town. I studied in CT for high school as well as my master's degree. I also worked in Uganda which gave me a great opportunity to see Central and Eastern Africa.

Enchanting Europe
I have been very blessed to live in several places in Europe; first, in England for my law degree and later for work. Secondly, in Italy working for the UN which was a dream come through both personally and professionally. And lastly, in the Netherlands where I fell in love with everything and am planning on returning to. These starting points have given me a unique opportunity to see Europe from different sides and to truly soak in the local cultures.

Adorable Asia
I never actually believed that I would move to Asia until it happened! One thing led to another and I was given the opportunity to live in both Thailand and Vietnam. Not only have I been able to see every inch of these two fabulous countries, I had the privilege to see South East Asia close up! My absolute favourite was Laos where the photo below is from.

What I always bring with
Besides a little wandering spirit
Headphones
I usually carry two pairs of headphones, ones that cancel other noises well but get sore if worn for too long and a small button pair that fits into any pocket. I get really restless on vehicles; I don't have great sleeping skills and I am simply too tall for most seats so I need plenty of distraction.
Kindle
I am a big reader and fought to keep real books with me for years but after living in Asia where obtaining English books was a struggle, I gave up and bought a kindle which I must say has been such an amazing travel companion. I have the amazon old school one and I love it!
Silk sleeping bag
This is simply a 500 g silk layer that you can put into another sleeping bag or use in a hostel bed. It's very useful against bugs and dirt because of the fine stitching but also absorbs heat well. I bought mine at a market in Hoi An, Vietnam.

Where to next
Like all travellers, I also have a long bucket list of things I want to witness and experience. Mine isn't just filled with beautiful places I wish to see - I love participating in cultural festivals: Holi, Day of the Dead, Afrikaburn, Songkran, St Patrick's Day, Midsummer in the Nordics and many others.
Besides being a festival person, I have always been a history nerd which is why the Easter Islands in Argentina have always been the top of my go-to's. I would also love to explore Japan, Jordan, Panama, Georgia and Australia.
Next up, however, I will be finishing my tour of Europe and going on a long road trip across the Balkans and surf and dive vacation in Portugal.
A friend of a friend has started a project to complete a hike up the highest peak of each European country which sounds like a brilliant idea! In 2025, I am hiking Kilimanjaro with a friend of mine and would also love to see some of these European peaks. I am crazy for heights!
