Hey!
You may have gathered that I absolutely love autumn. I think the colours and the fresh air are just the best. I've had this dream of spending lots of time in Lapland especially in the autumn. As the ground goes red and orange and the evenings get dark, northern lights also start to show.
I had a job that I could do remotely and decided to finally fulfil a part of this dream. I rented a cottage in Aavasaksa for a month and packed up my extra screen and everything necessary to make myself at home. My friend, whose puppy I've often taken care of, messaged me if I would be free one weekend to take the puppy. I told him that I couldn't because I won't be in town. Then I thought about it for five minutes and messaged him back that I would take the puppy if I could bring it with me to Lapland for a month. And so the best trip started.
I have always wanted to visit Lapland in the autumn. I came last year but I was too late to see the best of the colours. This time I had perfect timing!
I got to see some perfect autumn colours, plenty of fresh air and excellent views. There were even two nights of northern lights!
Also saw plenty of cute reindeer up close and the puppy acted very maturely about them.
We hiked the Pallas mountain which was amazing.
We also got to experience the first snow which was loads of fun and luckily melted so we could see some more colours!
Even the most 'basic' sunsets were amazing from the top of the mountain. This one is overlooking Sweden.
We actually visited Sweden! About an hour over the border there is this great waterfall.
